Walking through her own season of standing in the gap for the past 14 months, Wendy continues to fight in faith for God’s restoration in her marriage. With a gift for words and discernment, she helps translate deep spiritual truths into language that meets people right where they are—encouraging others to remain steadfast, anchored in God’s promises, and confident that He is still working, even in the waiting.
I’m Wendy, and growing up, all I saw were dysfunctional and broken families and marriages. I had several stepparents growing up and felt the pain of a divided family and home. As I got older, all I wanted was a family of my own, to not repeat the things I saw and to give my children a secure home with Christ at the center.
Even in a Christian home, if we don’t put God at the center, distance will replace unity and division will arise. Fourteen months ago, I found myself in separation, with my world unraveling in front of me. The most precious gifts of my husband and my children were slipping away.
In the midst of the darkness, the Lord met me and told me to stand for my marriage. As I was about to enter a season of pain and the unknown, the Lord reminded me that He was in control. God has grown me and is restoring me back to Him—to the woman of God He has always created me to be.
Over a year later, I stand firm on God’s Word for the restoration of our marriage and family. God has held me in the waiting and shown me that there is purpose in the pain. As I stand for my marriage, I also stand in the gap for other marriages that are hurting and broken. I believe in God’s miracles and His will over all of our marriages.
In Exodus 14:14 it says, “The Lord your God will fight for you; you need only to be still.” If you are going through this season, know that I am praying and standing with you—but most importantly, God is with you. He is fighting for you and your marriage. Don’t lose hope. He is in control.
Love,
A Standing Wife
