What if people tell me to just move on?

Some people may say that because they love you and do not want to see you hurt. Others may say it because they do not understand covenant. Listen with humility, but do not let every voice become your shepherd. Bring counsel back to Scripture. Seek wisdom from mature believers who understand truth, grace, covenant, repentance, and safety. Moving forward with God is always necessary. But “moving forward” does not always mean giving up on what God has called you to pray for.

How do I keep my heart soft when I have been deeply hurt?

A soft heart does not mean an unguarded heart. Ask God to keep you from bitterness. Confess resentment quickly. Pray for your spouse without excusing sin. Worship when grief feels heavy. Let Scripture correct your thoughts. Stay close to people who will remind you of truth. The enemy wants your wound to become your identity. God wants your wound to become a place of healing.

I am new here. Where should I start?

Start with prayer, Scripture, and one step of obedience. Visit the Library for biblical teaching. Subscribe to the newsletter for weekly encouragement. Watch or listen to Standing in the Gap: The War Room. Submit a prayer request if you need others to stand with you. You do not have to understand everything today. Begin with the Lord.

What should I do when I feel like giving up?

Bring that feeling honestly to God. Weariness is real. Standing can be lonely. Some days you may feel strong, and other days you may feel like you are barely holding on. Do not confuse exhaustion with failure. Rest. Pray. Ask others to carry the burden with you. Open Scripture. Take the next faithful step. God is not asking you to carry tomorrow today.

How do I know if I am standing in faith or just stuck in denial?

Faith faces reality with God. Denial refuses to face reality at all. Standing in faith says, “This is painful, but God is still able.” Denial says, “Nothing is wrong.” Faith tells the truth. Denial hides from truth. Faith produces prayer, obedience, growth, and surrender. Denial produces avoidance, fear, and confusion. A biblical stand is not built on pretending. It is built on trusting God in the middle of what is true.
