# Restoring Truth in Covenant Relationships

When challenges arise within a marriage, the temptation to hide, pass blame, or withdraw can feel overwhelming. Yet God invites couples into honest reflection, repentance, and grace.

## Scripture Focus

In the opening chapters of Genesis, humanity was created for intentional fellowship and shared purpose, joined together by God as one flesh. Though sin brought distance, defensive blame, and concealment, God pursued humanity with redemptive promise. The Apostle Paul later explains in Romans that while sin entered through one man bringing brokenness, Jesus Christ brings an overflowing gift of righteousness and life. Furthermore, Ephesians reminds us that the marriage covenant reflects the mystery of Christ and His Church.

## Reflection

It is easy to point toward a spouse’s shortcomings when strain enters a home. However, Christ calls each person to step out of hiding and enter into His light. True covenant healing begins when we bring our honest heart before God, taking personal responsibility for our choices while receiving the unmerited grace found only in Jesus. When we stop hiding, God’s grace begins its deep, restoring work in our hearts and homes.

## Prayer

Heavenly Father, we come before You acknowledging our deep need for Your grace. Where fear or pride has caused us to hide or blame, grant us the humility to walk in truth. Help us to reflect the selfless love of Christ in our covenant marriage. Strengthen our resolve to seek Your righteousness daily. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

## Next Faithful Step

Take five quiet minutes today to ask God to search your heart. Identify one area where you can extend forgiveness or ask for forgiveness from your spouse, trusting Christ to guide your steps.
